The Movies charges $10 per month for membership plus $2.50 per movie rental. Movies to Go charges $4 per movie rental. For what number of movie rentals per month is The Movies the less expensive option?
Would you set this problem up like 10 + 2.5 < 4x (10+2.5)?

Not quite, the equation you want:
10 + 2.5x < 4x

2.5x - 4x < -10
:
-1.5x < -10
:
WE need equation to be positive, mult both sides by -1
When we do that, we have to reverse the inequality sign
1.5x > 10
x >
x > 6.67
We can't have a fraction of a movie, therefore
x => 7 movies

Movies:10 + 2.5(7) = $27.50
Movies to go: 4*7 = $28.00
