Question 165575: Graph on a number line, where x is a real number.
-1 < x ≤ 2
a) a scale with 2 points the first is a solid dot that starts at -1 and goes to the left, the second is a dot that is not solid that starts at 2 and goes to the right. (there is a break between -1 and 2)
b) a scale with no break that starts with a solid dot at -1 and ends with a dot that is not solid on 2.
c) a scale with no break that starts with a dot that is not solid on -1 and ends with a solid dot on 2.
d) a scale with 2 points the first is a dot that is not solid that starts at -1 and goes to the left, the second is a solid dot that starts at 2 and goes to the right. (there is a break between -1 and 2)
Please help I have no idea which scale to choose. Thank you.

x is greater than -1 but less than or equal to 2. therefore x lies between -1 and 2 on the number line with 2 being included and -1 being excluded. to show this you need a non solid circle at -1 and moving to 2 which has a solid dot. that would be choice c
