Write an equation of the line that is parallel to y= 3x-4 and passes through point (0,-3).

Lines that are parallel have the same slope. The eqn is in slope-intercept form, y = mx+b, so the slope, m, is 3.

y-y1 = m*(x-x1) where (x1,y1) is the given point (0,-3)

y+3 = 3x
