Question 155602: Graph the step function

F(x) = 4, if -10 < X< = -8
6, if -8 < x < = -6
8, if -6< x < = -4

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
In order to graph this piece wise function, simply graph the individual equations that make up the piecewise function. So for instance, simply graph the equation y=4 when "x" is greater than -10 AND is less than or equal to -8. So this is simply a horizontal line at y=4 from -10 to -8 like this

Note: there is an open circle at the left endpoint since the first sign is a "less than" sign, and there is a closed circle at the right endpoint since the second sign is a "less than or equal" and there is

Now graph the horizontal line y=6 from x=-8 to x=-6

Now graph the horizontal line y=8 from x=-6 to x=-4

Now graph the horizontal line y=9 from x=-4 to x=-2

Now graph the horizontal line y=10 from x=-2 to x=0
