OK, let's pick a range from -5 to 5.
From (-5,-2), the function is

Since for a straight line, we only need two points we will use -5,-2,and 5.
Plot those two points, (-5,-15/2) and (-2,-6) and draw the straight line connecting them.
Next,
Plot those and connect those points.
Note the change in scale of the graph.
