Question 150340: Write the equation of a line, in slope-intercept form, passing through (2,3) and perpendicular to a line with an equation x-2y=2
Answer by mgmoeab(37)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The slope-intercept form is y=mx+b
x-2y=2 is equal to y= x/2-1
since the slope of this line is 1/2, then the slope of the line in question is -2.
use the formula (y-y1)=m(x-x1), P(2,3)/ where x1=2, y1=3 m= -2 (in this case)
(y-3)=-2(x-2)
y-3=-2x+4
y+2x-7=0 , y=-2x+7
