Question 146988: Consider the following graph y=f(x) the graph shows a squirrly line with (y)P being -1 and the line then crossing the x axis at 1.
If h(x)=f(x)-3 what would be the new coordinates of P be after the shidt ( give answer in ( x,y) form.
If k(x)=-f(x) wha twould be the new coordinates of P after the reflection? give answer in (x,y) form.

Answer by oscargut(2103)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
if P=(1,-1) then the new coordinates are:
1) If h(x)=f(x)-3 h(1)=f(1)-3=-1-3=-4 so the new coordinates are P=(1,-4)
2) If k(x)=-f(x) k(1)=-f(1)=-(-3)=3 so the new coordinates are P=(1,3)
