> means "greater than"

The symbol < relates 2 quantities. The symbol is read "is less than"
If I write , this is read "a is less than b"
The symbol > also relates 2 quantities, and is read "is greater than"
If I write , this is read "a is greater than b"

< means "is less than" and > means "is greater than"

As in , read "three is less than five"

, read "x is greater than two"

You will also see:
