How to graph
5x+2y=-10
To be able to graph an equation, you need to know at least two points along the line. In order to find some points, you must first pick a number(prefferably low) for x, plug it into the equation, and solve. So, if I pick 1 for x:
Multiply:
Subtract 5 from both sides:
Divide both sides by 2:
That gives you an ordered pair of (1,-7.5).
To check, plug these values into your equation:
Multiply:
Subtract:
To find another point, simply repeat this process. Plot both points on your graph, and then you can draw your line.
