Question 120503: I am having a problem with the equation to find the slope, if it exists, of a line. The equation is 6x=24+y. Thank you in advance for your help. My homework is online so I do not have a ISBN no for a book
Answer by solver91311(24713) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The process to find the slope of a line where the equation is in x and y is to solve the equation for y. The slope is then the resulting coefficient on the x term.
Add -y to both sides:
Add -6x to both sides:
Multiply by -1:
The slope of the line is then 6.
Hope this helps,
John
