A graph is a collection of (x,y) points on the xy grid.
Often we connect the dots with some kind of line or curve.
In this case we'll have a bowl-shaped curve known as a parabola.
We select values of x to find corresponding values of y to get the (x,y) points needed.
Let's try x = -1
y = -3x^2
y = -3(-1)^2
y = -3(1)
y = -3
Therefore the input x = -1 in the domain maps to y = -3 in the range.
In short, the point (x,y) = (-1,-3) is on the parabola.
Repeat similar steps to find that (0,0) and (1,-3) are other points on the parabola.
Do this as many times as needed to generate the points to form the parabola. The more points you plot, the more accurate the curve will be.

I recommend using a graphing tool like Desmos or GeoGebra (or similar) to verify the answer.
