Question 1174409: Which point is a solution of the inequality 𝑦 ≤ 𝟐𝒙 + 𝟓?
A. (-3, 1) C. (1,9)
B. ( 2, 0) D. (0, 6)

Answer by math_helper(2461)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!

When you see a coordinate pair like (2,3) you must realize, x=2 and y=3. So all you need to do is apply the inequality to each coordinate pair to find one that satisfies the inequality.

I'll check A for you, follow the same procedure for the others:
(-3, 1) ==> x = -3, y = 1
2x+5 = 2(-3)+5 = -6 + 5 = -1 this does NOT satisfy y ≤ 𝟐𝒙 + 𝟓
because y = 1 and 1 is greater than -1.
