Graph a line & write the equation of a line.
Suppose a line passes through the points ( 2, - 1) and ( 5, 8 ).
(1) Write the equation of the line in the following forms:
a) standard form,
b) slope-intercept form,
c) point-slope form,
d) two-point form (may have to Google this one).
(2) Graph the above line on a properly labeled rectangular coordinate system.

the slope is the change in y/change in x and that is 9/3=3
point slope formula is y-y1=m(x-x1), m slope (x1, y1) a point
y-8=3(x-5) point slope form
y=3x-7 slope-intercept form
rearrange
3x-y=7 standard form
two points: plot the points, find the slope between them, use the point-slope formula
