Standard form: y=ax^2+bx+c
It's important to know what b is when completing the square.
Vertex form: y=a(x-h)^2+k (h,k) is the vertex



1. Factor out 2 to make sure the coefficient of x^2 = 1
2. Add and subtract (b/2)^2 inside the parentheses
3. Factor into the form of (x-b)^2
This is the vertex form.
