Question 110294: graph the inequality
y> or = 3x
Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
graph the inequality
y> or = 3x
--------------
Graph the boundary line y = 3x
---------
For the inequality, y>3x:
Pick a test point that is not on the boundary,
like (0,2)
Substitute those x/y values into the inequality:
2>3*0
2>0
That is false.
So the half-plane is not on the side of the boundary
that contains the point (0,2).
--------
Shade the half-plane on the other side of the line.
=================
The boundary plus the half-plane together is the graph
for y>=3x
