It is the square root of the difference in the y-value squared PLUS the difference in the x-value squared.
The y value difference is -7-6 or 6-(-7), and one is -13 and the other is 13. Since they are being squared, it doesn't matter which direction you go, unlike slope calculations. 13^2=169
For the x is it 3-(-4) or -4-3, and that is 7 or -7 and squared it is 49.
Add 169 and 49 (218) and take the square root of 218, which is 14.76.
d=sqrt {(x1-x2)^2+(y1-y2)^2}

Use the distance formula within the coordinate plane. If you're not familiar with it, then look it up and try to find the distance yourself.
