Question 1064612: What point intersection of the graph of the lines x + y = 8 and 2x - y = 1?
Answer by Theo(13342) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
you can solve for it by solving both equations simultaneously.
equations are.
x + y = 8
2x - y = 1
add the equations together to get 3x = 9
solve for x to get x = 3
when x = 3, y = 5 in the first equation.
when x = 3, y = 5 in the second equation.
the intersection point would be at (3,5).
the following graph shows this to be true.
