If a line passes through (3,-1) and has a slope of -1,how would you write the equation?
Use the point-slope formula:
y - - 1 = - 1(x - 3) ------ Substituting (3, - 1) for , and - 1 for m
y + 1 = - x + 3 =====> y = - x + 3 - 1 =====>
