Question 1040546: I'm having some trouble with this problem and could use your help!
Points (–1, 0) and (–9, –8) are endpoints of the diameter of a circle.
(a) What is the length of the diameter?
(b) What is the center point C of the circle?
(c) Given the point C you found in part (b), state the point symmetric to C about the x-axis.
am I using the distance formula: sqrt((x2-x1)^2 + (y2-y1)^2)
any help or guidance on this would be amazing, thank you!

Question part (c) does not mean anything. Do you want the equation of the circle instead?

(a):
Distance Formula;

(b):
Midpoint Formula;
If midpoint is the ordered pair, (h,k), then and .

(c)
Finish those computations. The distance will give you the DIAMETER, which is twice the radius. The midpoint in (b) is the center, indicated as (h,k). If using r as the radius, and if you want the equation for the circle, the standard form would be of a format .
