1.  Divide bot sides by (-3). You will get an equivalent inequality

    x - 5 > .   (Notice that I changed the inequality sign "<" by ">" when divided both sides of the inequality by the negative number !)


2. Add 5 to both sides of the last inequality. You will get an equivalent inequality 

    x > ,   or

    x > ,
