Question 1030937: 13-(2c+2) >or= 2(c+2)+3c
How do you write this in set builder and interval notation

Answer by Theo(13342)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
your equation is 13 - (2c+2) >= 2(c+2) + 3c

i think you have to solve it first.

you will get c <= 1

in interval notation that would be c = (- infinity, 1]

that means that minus infinity is smaller than c which is smaller than or equal to 1

the symbol ( on the left means c is greater than minus infinity.

the symbol ] on the right means that c is less than or equal to 1.

here's some references.

the first is on interval notation.

the second is on set builder notation.

in set builder notation, your answer would look like this:

{ c | c <= 1 }

this means the set of all c's such that c <= 1
