Hi there,
Make length = 'x'
Width = x - 8
Perimeter of a rectangle = 2 x width + 2 x length
104 = 2(x - 8) + 2(x)
104 = 2x - 16 + 2x
Collect like terms:
2x + 2x = 104 + 16
4x = 120
x = 30 feet
Length = 30 feet
Width = 22 feet
