Question 1004808: Solve:
2/(x-1) - 1/2 = 4/(x^2-1)
Answer by mananth(16946) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
2/(x-1) - 1/2 = 4/(x^2-1)
Multiply equation by the LCD
2*2(x+1) -4*2= (x^2-1)
4x+4 -8 = x^2-1
x^2-4x +3=0
x^2-3x-x+3=0
x(x-3)-1(x-3)=0
(x-3)(x-1) =0
x= 3 OR 1
