Question 1002509: Write an equation in slope- intercept form of the line that passes through the given points. (2,6) and (-4,-2)

Answer by Boreal(15235)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
slope is change in y over change in x.
As y decreases 8, x decreases 6. The slope is 8/6=4/3
Use point slope formula with either point.
y-y1=m(x-x1)
y-6 = (4/3)(x-2)
y-6=(4x/3)-(8/3)
y=(4x/3)+(10/3)
------
with other point
y+2=(4/3)(x+4)
y+2=(4x/3)+16/3
y=(4x/3)+(10/3)
