Question 167580: write an equation of the line that passes through given line. write answer in slope intercept form. (0,8), 8y-16x=6: write an equation of the line that passes through given line. write answer in slope intercept form. (0,8), 8y-16x=6

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
write an equation of the line that passes through given line. write answer in slope intercept form. (0,8), 8y-16x=6
-------------------------------
There's an infinite number of lines that will pass thru that line. Only the ones that are parallel to it will not.
What's that (0,8) for?
Question 167580: write an equation of the line that passes through given line. write answer in slope intercept form. (0,8), 8y-16x=6: write an equation of the line that passes through given line. write answer in slope intercept form. (0,8), 8y-16x=6

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
8y-16x=6 -----> A Line eqn.
Continuing, via Slope intercept form:
y=(16x+6)/8=(16/8)x+(6/8), Reduced to:
y=2x+(3/4) ----> Line eqn for the Given Line in Slope -Intercept Form
As we see in the grpah:
drawing(300,300,-5,5,-5,10,grid(1),graph(300,300,-5,5,-5,10,2x+(3/4)),circle(0,8,.20))) ---> Any Other Line can pass thru this.
Given points (0,8)??? ---> see in the graph---> misleading??
Verify please.
Thank you,
