When we say the y-intercept is at 2, it really means at location (0,2). . The "slope" is the "rise" over the "run". That is, "rise" tells you the vertical direction (up or down) and the "run" tells you the horizontal direction (right or left). . So, to draw the line: 1. place a dot at the y-intercept (0,2) 2. now, starting at location (0,2), we can use the "slope" to give us another point. From (0,2), go straight up "4" units and then go right "3" units -- place your second dot here. 3. draw a straight line through the two dots -- that's it, you're done!
