Question 990223: Points H, G, and J are collinear, and
G is between H and J. If HG = 3x − 4,
HJ = 4x + 3, and GJ = 3x + 4,
what is HJ?
Answer by Boreal(15235) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
On the same line,
HJ=HG +GJ
4x+3=3x-4+3x+4
4x+3=6x
2x=3; divide both sides by 2. and 3/2= 1.5
x= 1.5
==
HJ=9 by substituting 1.5 for x.
The other two are 0.5 and 8.5
