Question 955644: I do not understand proofs at all and I currently have a 60 in my geometry class because I can't do them. Please help me solve this proof. Thank you!
Prove: Segment BD and segment AE are diameters of circle C
Segment BD is perpendicular to segment AE
Prove: the measure of arc AB is congruent to the measure of arc ED
Answer by josgarithmetic(39618) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
An arc is directly related to the measure of the central angle; and your intersecting diameters are perpendicular at their intersection point, center of the circle.
Can you see a plan of steps using reasons:
Vertical angles are congruent;
Perpendicular segments mean Right Angles;
Congruent central angle of circle subtend congruent arc measures.
Not a full proof, but just a raw outline of how to justify what statements you could say.
