The sum of the measures of 1 and 2 is 180 by definition of supplementary

The sum of the measures of 3 and 4 is 180 by definition of supplementary

The measure of 2 equals the measure of 3 by definition of congruence

The sum of 1 and 3 is 180 by substitution equality

1 plus 3 equals 3 plus 4 by transitive equality

1 equals 4 by subtraction equality

1 congruent to 4 by definition of congruence
