Question 507129: Make a conjecture about the next item in each sequence - 2 , 4 , - 8 , 16 , - 32
Answer by Edwin McCravy(20060)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
- 2 , 4 , - 8 , 16 , - 32
To get from -2 to 4, you multiply -2 by -2 and get 4.

To get from 4 to -8, you multiply 4 by -2 and get -8.

To get from -8 to 16, you multiply -8 by -2 and get 16.

To get from 16 to -32, you multiply 16 by -2 and get -32.

To get from -32 to ___, you multiply ___ by __ and get ___.

I'm sure you can figure out what to put in those blanks if you look
at all the sentences above and think of what you had to do to get
the next one in all those cases.
