Question 1153130: given that triangle abc is an isosceles triangle with base of line segment bc and line segment bd is congruent to line segment cd, prove triangle adb is congruent to triangle adc

The altitude of triangle ABC to base BC bisects BC and is perpendicular to BC; the altitude of triangle DBC to base BC bisects BC and is perpendicular to BC.
Therefore segment AD contains the altitudes of both triangles.
That makes triangles ADB and ADC congruent by side-side-side.
