CM=md, because the midpoint of a line divides it into two equal segments.
5x-2=3x+2, substitution.
+2-2=0 additive inverse
5x+2-2=3x+2+2 properties of equations
5x=3x+4
-3x+3x=0 additive inverse
5x-3x=3x-3x+2+2
2x=4
x=2
