Question 1065590: My question is " in the following figure, congruent segments are marked. Prove angle ACF is congruent with angle AEB.

So I have started with my statement/reason proof with what was given.
Line AF is congruent with line BA.
Line BC is congruent with line FE.
But I don't know where to go from here? I have been thinking about trying to prove Line CD and DE are congruent, but i don't know if that is right or not.
Would someone please help me please? I am really struggling with proofs.

Your question is " in the following figure, congruent segments are marked. Prove angle ACF is congruent with angle AEB. "
So, you already have the first two steps right. You also need the right angles in your proof, so you can write angle cbd and angle dfe are both right angles. You know this because half of 180 is 90, so both angles would be 90. Then, focus on the smaller triangles dfe and bcd. You already have a congruent Side and angle, so one more side would be side angle side. As you can see, at bd and df, the triangles overlap each other. Using the reflexive property, you can set df congruent to df and bd congruent to bd. You then have SAS for both triangles, making them congruent. As congruent triangles, both angles ACF and AEB are congruent. I hope this helped, there may also be other ways to solve this, but I would've done it like this. Proofs will get easier as you go, and if you need help you can always ask your teachers! Have a great day!
