Vertical angles are congruent. Your "left" and "right" angles are of equal measure, so 5x-20=3x+8.


The sum of ALL FOUR angles is 360 degrees, so....,
but what you need next is that your "bottom" angle and your "right" OR "left" angle are supplementary, meaning their sum is 180 degrees. TWO of them; NOT the three of them.
Arbitrarily picking one, , and you would have already solved for x.
