Question 515059: Indicate whether the conjecture is true or false. If false, provide a counterexample.
If a/b > 0, then a > o and b > 0.
I say this is true.
I am not sure, however if I am wrong can you show an example to help me understand. Thank you for your time regarding this question.

Question 515222: My question: Find the difference quotient for f(x) = 7x^2-9x+2
This is what I've come up with, I want to make sure I understand it and did it right!
f(x+h) = 7(x+h)^2 - 9(x+h) + 2
= 7(x+h)(x+h) - 9x-9h + 2
=7[x^2 + 2hx+h^2] - 9x-9h + 2
=7x^2 + 14hx+7h^2-9x-9h+2-(7x^2-9x+2)
=7x^2 + 14hx+7h^2-9x-9h+2-7x^2+9x-2/h
=14hx+7h^2-9h/h
=h(14x+7h-9)/h
=(14x+7h-9) Final Answer!
Wow, these wear me out, I'm praying I did it right or at least close!!
Thanks so much,
Tracy

Question 515560: If f(x)=2x^2+3 and g(x)=x-5 find:
a. (f o g)(3)
b. (g o f)(3)
I am unsure as to where the (3) goes in this problem. I do know that the (3) will replace the x in the problem. My question is "How do I put a (3) in when I start with 2x^2?" This is how I started the problem:
(f o g)(3)=(f o g)*(3)=2*(x-5)^2+3. Would you please help me solve both of these problems step by step. Your guidance will be greatly appreciated.
Respectfully,
TLM
