Question 274913: If g(x)=x^2+4x+2 find g(2) and g(x+2)
so far I have
g(2)= 2^2+4(2)+2
g(2)= 4+8+2
g(2)= 14
g(x+2)= (x+2)^2 + 4(x+2)+2
= x^2 + 4 + 4x + 8 + 2
= x^2 + 4x + 14
I'm not sure if I should replace x with 2 or 14?

Question 277488: Write an equation for each relation.
n (-4) (-2) (0) (2) (4)
m(n) (-11) (-3) (5) (13) (21)
The above is a table.
I have tried:
The difference in range numbers is +8. The difference in domain numbers is +2.
Range difference over domain difference is: 8/2=4 Is the correct function
m(n)=4n ? Thanks for your help.

Question 278152: Not sure where to start with this one:
An orchard contains 30 apple trees, each of which yields approx 400 apples over the growing season. The owner plans to add more trees, but the guys at Texas A&M advise that b/c of crowding, each new tree will reduce the average yield per tree by about 10 apples over the growing season. How many trees should be added to maximize the total yield of apples, and whit is the maximum yield?
x=30
y=400 I think, but how do I plug this into a quadratic function? Or is that even the direction I need to go?

Question 278141: I was hoping to check the solution to a word problem:
An airline chart shows that the temperature T in degrees Fahrenheit at an altitude, h, of 15000ft is 5. At an altitude of 20,000ft T=-15. If T is a linear function of h, write a function to describe this. What do the slope and y intercepts tell you in the context of this problem?
F(h)=-.004(h)+65
As your altitude increases, the temperature decreases.
