Question 145020: PLEASEEE
1. Find functions f and g so that f [g(x)] = H(x) where H(x)=(1+x^2)^3
2. If g(x)=x^2+4x+2 find g(2) and g(x+2)
3. For f(x)=4x+1 and g(x)=x^2-2x-4 find (g-f)(x). Simplify the answer.
4.What is the function which would intersect the y-axis 2 positions up(vertical) from the function f(x)=x^2
5. Using the graphing utility to approximate any relative minimum or maximum points of f(x)=x^2-6x.

Question 145855: I have to graph the following functions:
f(x)= -3x +7
f(x)= -3x (squared) + x - 5
This is what I have thus far. Can someone help me?

Question 146614: The book gives an example of a function for X that substituts 1/2 for X in the expression....
f(1/2)=(1/2)^3 - 3(1/2)^2 + (1/2) + 5
=1/8 - 3(1/4) + 1/2 + 5
=1/8 - 3/4 + 1/2 +5
=1/8 - 6/8 +4/8 + 40/8
= 39/8
Now im sure this is just simple addition and subtraction with fractions, but I haven't worked with math in many years.
Can someone break down
f(X) = 2X^3 - X^2 + 3X - 2
with f(-1/2) substuting for X please, the more info the better.
