Question 993807: Find the domain of the function f(x)= the sq root of (5x-9)
A detailed explanation is greatly appreciated, as I need to understand for these type of problems. If you could possibly do an example of solving to find the domain of a different equation to help me better understand and then give a step-by-step explanation of how to solve this equation that would be greatly appreciated! Thank you so much in advance.
Answer by rothauserc(4718) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
function f(x)= the sq root of (5x-9)
I assume f(x) is a function from real numbers(R) to real numbers(R)
*******************************************************************
then x belongs to R such that 5x > or = 9
note that if 5x < 9 then we have square root of a negative number which leads to imaginary numbers
*******************************************************************
suppose you are asked for the domain of f(x) = 1 / (x - 1)
the domain is all real numbers except for 1 since x = 1 leads to division by 0 which is not allowed
