Question 942207: How do I put 3x+y=10 in function notation? Very confused...
Answer by richard1234(7193)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Assuming x is the independent variable:

Isolate y to get y = 10-3x, so y is a function in x. Or you could replace y with y(x) (or whatever symbol you prefer) for function notation, i.e. y(x) = 10-3x.
