Question 917865: The function f has a domain of (2, 4, 6, 8) and a range of (5, 7, 11). Can f be represented by (2,5; 4,7; 6,8; 8,5).
I say no because 8 is in the domain but there is no corresponding range element. Would this be correct?
Answer by rothauserc(4718) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
this is a function,
note that 8 relates to 5, many to one is allowed so (2,5) and (8,5) is ok
every element in the domain is related to some element in the range.
it's ok that no element in the domain relates to 11
