Question 894293: I'm quite lost, was wondering if anyone could help me.
The function g is defined below
g(x)= x+1/x^2+7x-18
Find all values of x that are not in the domain of g.
If there is more than one answer, separate them with commas.
I have no idea what a function or domain actually is and to be perfectly honest, I'm fairly worried I'm in over my head. I appreciate any and all help!

I will take a guess that what you really have for g(x) is this:

which in pure text is this:
g(x)=(x+1)/(x^2+7x-18)

You want to determine which values of x are not acceptable for g(x).

The denominator must not be allowed to be zero.
This means g cannot accept any x for which .
Factoring gives the equivalent, ;
the values that produce this equation are x=2 or x=-9.

g(x) cannot accept the x values of x=2 nor x=-9.
