1) I take Bob’s cat, and bring it to my house.
2) I take Bob’s cat and stick it in a blender, which I turn on.
Why is scenario 2 very different, in terms of compositions and inverses?

In scenario 2 you have lost a friend and you probably have to buy a new blender. Probably won't be able to borrow one from your friend either.
