What is "equal values" method?

Two equations show as formulas for y.
-x%2B3=2x%2B9
-x-2x=9-3
-3x=6
x=-2, one coordinate.

y=2x%2B9
y=2%28-2%29%2B9
y=-4%2B9
y=5, other coordinate.

Answer ordered pair, (-2, 5).
Not the same as the ordered pair you were expecting. Maybe that is why you could not reproduce the values which you expected.
