Question 855305: In the past, I have had questions asking what the restrictions are to the domain and range of a function or graph. I do not understand what it means by this. An example is (4,4) (6,16) (8,64) what are the restrictions to the domain and range?
I do not know how to find the restrictions. Can you please help me understand this?

Every function has x and y coordinates. (x,y). The domain is the possible x-coordinates. The range is the possible y-coordinates.

When given a set of (x,y) ordered pairs, the domain is all the given x values. The range is all the possible y values.

For this problem, the domain is {4,6,8} and the range is {4,16,64}.
