Have one ellipse on one side, label it x, have another and label it f(x)

in x {-1,2,3}
in f(x){4,5}
draw a line from -1 to 4
draw a line from 2 to 5
draw a line from 3 to 5
Is it a function? Yes.
It isn't one-to-one, due to more than one x value producing the same y-value.
It is a function. If it wasn't we'd have where more the same x value is producing multiple y-values.
