If F(x)=4x-2 and g(x)=x(2-x)^-1 Find:
a) g(f(g(4)))
b)f(g(x))
I did this and it just doesn't look right.
A)
g(x)=4(2-4)^-1
-2
4(-.5)
g=2
f(-2)=4(-2)-2
-8-2
-10
g(-10)=-10(2+10)^-1
12
1/12
-10(.083)
-.833
f(g(x))
f(g(x))=4(x(2-x)^-1)-2
4(x(1/2))-2
4(x/2-x)-2
(4x/2-x)-2
-8x/2-x

your results look fine with the exception of the last step ... using more parentheses wouldn't hurt and some of the intermediate steps are a little shakey

the -2 in (4x/(2-x))-2 is a subtraction operation ... it does NOT lead to -8x/(2-x)
