How do I algebraically solve this function?
Evaluate the indicated function for f(x) = x2 − 1 and g(x) = x − 4 algebraically.
(f − g)(-4) = f(-4)-g(-4) = [(-4)^2-1] - [(-4)-4]
--------
= [15]-[-8]
--------
= 23
