Question 765581: I need to determine if relation is function:

Is this relationship a function?
How would you go about figuring it out?

This is NOT a function because a person may have more than one aunt. So let's say you have a person named Frank and he has a dad who has a sister named Julie and Barbara. Let's say Frank's mom has 1 sister named Debbie. Frank has 3 aunts, but the input (Frank) needs to map to EXACTLY ONE output (Franks aunt) for it to be a function. One value in the domain is "Frank" and three values in the range would be "Julie", "Barbara", "Debbie". If this was a function, then "Frank" would only map to one, and only one name in the range, not 3.
So again, this is a NOT a function.
