Question 686789: Does the equation y^2=x+3 define a function y=f(x)? why or why not?
Answer by jim_thompson5910(35256) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Solve for y to get y = sqrt(x+3) or y = -sqrt(x+3)
So this is NOT a function because any given x value produces more than one y value.
