g(0) means find g(x) when x = 0
When x = 0, we're in the range . So we're picking on the first piece of the piecewise function. So g(x) = x+5
Therefore,
g(x) = x+5
g(0) = 0+5
g(0) = 5
--------------------------------------------------------------------
g(2) means g(x) when x = 2
When x = 2, we're in the range again, so we're sticking with the first piece still.
g(x) = x+5
g(2) = 2+5
g(2) = 7
--------------------------------------------------------------------
g(7) means g(x) when x = 7
When x = 7, we're now in the range . So we've moved onto the second piece of the piecewise function.
So g(x) = 3-x
g(x) = 3-x
g(7) = 3-7
g(7) = -4
======================================================================
Summary:
g(0) = 5
g(2) = 7
g(7) = -4
